Automated Parking Enforcement via Safety Sticks Introduced in North Plainfield

by Charlie Dwyer

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The North Plainfield Borough has implemented Safety Sticks along “no parking” zones on Somerset Street.

These solar-powered camera devices will support automated parking enforcement by capturing time-stamped images of vehicles parked in these zones for over 90 seconds.

Starting December 1st, the Traffic Safety Division will enforce this new ordinance, 7-3.1B(c).

Violators could receive an $80 fine for each recorded infraction after an officer reviews the captured image.

Images of the installed Safety Sticks have been provided for public awareness.
