Heated Argument Leads To Shooting Incident In D.C., Suspect Arrested

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man has been taken into custody following a shooting incident in Northwest Washington D.C., as announced by the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District.

The event occurred on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in the 400 block of 2nd Street, Northwest. The confrontation began at approximately 11:37 a.m. inside a building, where two men engaged in a heated argument. During the dispute, the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Jose David Zuniga Arteaga, reportedly fired a weapon at the other individual but did not inflict any injuries.

Following the shooting, Arteaga, who has no fixed address, attempted to escape but was quickly apprehended by officers responding to the scene. He has been arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
