Columbus SWAT Arrests Fugitive Murder Suspect After Standoff

COLUMBUS, OH — A tense standoff in east Columbus culminated in the arrest of 60-year-old homicide suspect Stephan Turner by Columbus Police SWAT officers. The standoff occurred at a residence in east Columbus following Turner’s involvement in a fatal shooting.

The incident began on November 19, when Columbus Police officers responded to a shooting report in the 4800 block of Morse Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 42-year-old Kandi Henderson with gunshot wounds. Henderson was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.

Turner was charged with murder following his surrender to the SWAT officers. This incident adds to a series of violent crimes in the city.
