Armed Standoff in Wilkins Township Ends Peacefully with Suspect’s Surrender

WILKINS TOWNSHIP, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s SWAT team successfully resolved a standoff in Wilkins Township on Saturday.

Wilkins Township Police called for SWAT assistance at 12:21 PM at a residence in the 500 block of Tongalucas Street, where a male suspect, believed to be armed and with multiple arrest warrants, had barricaded himself inside.

Negotiators engaged with the suspect and, after lengthy discussions, persuaded him to exit the residence. The peaceful surrender occurred shortly after 1:30 PM. The suspect, now in custody, was handed over to Wilkins Township Police. The police will provide further updates. Following the resolution, all roads in the vicinity were reopened.
