BUFFALO, NY – On Tuesday morning, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced the sentencing of 20-year-old Jakyia A. Williams of Buffalo.

Williams was sentenced to time served and five years of probation by State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges.

The charge stems from an incident on Monday, September 5, 2022. At around 8:03 p.m., Williams arranged to meet a male victim outside a fast food restaurant on Thruway Plaza in Cheektowaga.

During this meeting, Williams intentionally stabbed the victim in the upper torso with a knife. The victim, who was attacked while sitting in a parked vehicle, managed to drive himself to Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph’s Campus for treatment and was later released.

Williams pleaded guilty to one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class “D” felony, on June 15. A final order of protection for the victim was issued, remaining effective until 2031.
