Man Arrested for Destruction of Property in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND, MD – On Friday, December 15, 2023, Cumberland City Police responded to an incident of property damage at a business located on Queen City Dr.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers spoke with an employee of the establishment who reported that a male individual had thrown an object through the front window of the store. The male suspect was still present and was subsequently identified. Security footage from the premises confirmed the male’s involvement in the act of property damage.

In light of this evidence, 31-year-old Nicholas Lee Craig, a resident of Cumberland, MD, was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland Police Department for further processing. Craig was subsequently presented before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance and has been remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently held on a temporary commitment.

Nicholas Lee Craig faces charges related to the destruction of property with a value exceeding $1,000.
