HAGERSTOWN, MD – A Washington County man’s routine stop at a store led to an unexpected $50,000 win from the new “$” (Dollar Sign) scratch-off game.

The young winner, who was on his way to work, bought the bright green scratch-off ticket on a whim at West End Liberty gas station, located at 1020 West Washington Street in Hagerstown. While waiting to use the restroom at the store, he scratched the ticket and discovered the $50,000 prize. “I saw 13 twice, then I kept scratching to reveal the amount of $50,000 and I lost my breath,” he shared with Lottery officials.

To confirm his win, he had his father double-check the ticket and also scanned it at the store. Prior to this, his biggest Lottery win was $500.
