Fatal Pedestrian Crash Investigated by Delaware State Police

GEORGETOWN, DE – A pedestrian crash occurred on Monday evening, resulting in one fatality.

Around 6:14 p.m., a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by a 45-year-old man from Ellendale, Delaware, was traveling southbound on Dupont Boulevard.

Concurrently, a 1993 Honda Accord, driven by a 39-year-old man from Millsboro, Delaware, was also southbound. A 39-year-old pedestrian entered the southbound lane, leading to her being struck by the Volkswagen and then the Honda.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of her family.

Both drivers involved in the incident were uninjured. The crash led to a closure of the roadway for approximately three hours for investigation and cleanup.
