Newark Police Asking for Help Identifying Porch Pirate

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a package theft on Tuesday.

The incident occurred between 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Maybaum Avenue.

A male suspect, carrying a black trash bag, was seen stealing packages from a residence. Among the stolen items was a CPAP machine, valued at $2,000.

The suspect, described as wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and dark-brown boots, was captured on surveillance footage.

Director Fragé asks anyone with information to contact the Newark Police Division’s Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.
