DUI Arrest and Vehicle Theft in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Maplewood Police Officers dealt with a DUI incident and a vehicle theft on last Monday.

Officer Beischer responded to a report of a crash involving a vehicle hitting two parked cars on Elmwood Ave near Prospect St. The driver, identified as Jorge Alvaradoguamuch, 25, of Orange, NJ, fled on foot but was apprehended nearby.

Alvaradoguamuch was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and received multiple summonses, including Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Reckless Driving.

On the same day, a theft from a motor vehicle was reported by a Marion Terrace resident.

They found their vehicle rummaged through, with personal items stolen.
