Toms River Public Works Announces Closure and Schedule Changes for Martin Luther King Day

by Charlie Dwyer

TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Toms River Township Department of Public Works announced it will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King Day. As a result, there will be no garbage or recycling collections on this day. Additionally, the Recycling Convenience Center will also remain closed.

To accommodate the closure, all garbage and recycling collections will be postponed by one day throughout the week. This adjustment means that collections typically scheduled for Friday will occur on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Furthermore, the township will conduct curbside Christmas tree and brush collections from January 15 to January 26, 2024. Residents also have the option to drop off their Christmas trees at designated Township Parks or at the Recycling Center located at 1672 Church Rd.
