Arrest Made in Shooting of Delivery Driver In Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore Police Department announced the arrest of Darrien Gaither, 20, in connection with a shooting that occurred last month. Gaither was apprehended on Friday by detectives from the Western District and the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The incident, which took place on December 29th involved a 50-year-old male victim who suffered a gunshot wound. The shooting occurred in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. The victim, who was delivering packages at the time, was inadvertently hit during an exchange of gunfire between two groups of juveniles.

Gaither, a Baltimore resident, is believed to be involved in the shooting. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He faces charges of 1st-degree attempted murder.

Initially handled by officers responding to the scene on December 29, Western District Shooting detectives later took over the investigation.
