BRONX, NY – Lasasha Gouldbourne, a 31-year-old female from the Bronx, was arrested on Tuesday, by the New York City Police Department.
Gouldbourne faces charges of manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault, and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Friday, September 1, 2023, at around 6:59 AM. Police responded to a 911 call at 2758 Bronx Park East, where they found an unconscious and unresponsive newborn child.
The child was transported to Montefiore Medical Center and was later pronounced deceased. The cause of death is pending determination by the Chief Medical Examiner.
An adult female, now identified as Gouldbourne, was also taken to a hospital for medical evaluation at that time.
