EASTCHESTER, NY – On Thursday, the Eastchester Police Department engaged in a high-speed chase involving a wanted vehicle.

The suspect, previously stopped twice by the New Rochelle Police Department, had fled each time, endangering officers’ lives.

Following alerts from the Westchester County Real Time Crime Center, Eastchester officers located the vehicle on White Plains Road. During an attempted stop, the suspect nearly hit an officer before fleeing onto the Bronx River Parkway, where officers lost sight of the vehicle.

The New Rochelle Police Department later apprehended the suspect, Paul Murch, born May 26, 1995, at a local bar. Murch, facing charges in New Rochelle, was transferred to Eastchester Police and charged with Attempted Assault 1st degree and Attempted Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer.

He is also wanted on warrants in New Jersey. Murch was arraigned in Eastchester Town Court and is currently held at Westchester County Jail on bail.
