70-Year-Old Struck and Killed by Mack Truck While Crossing Street

Baltimore County, MD – A tragic incident occurred early on February 5, as 70-year-old Burlon Austin Jr. was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Liberty Road near Brenbrook Drive. The Baltimore County Police Department reported that officers were called to the scene at approximately 5 a.m., where they found Austin involved in a collision with a 2010 Mack 600 truck.

The Baltimore County Crash Team has taken the lead in investigating the circumstances of the crash. Initial findings indicate that the incident took place as the truck was traveling eastbound on Liberty Road and Austin was crossing in a southbound direction.

Emergency medical services promptly transported Austin to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Mack 600 remained at the scene following the accident.
