Officer Stabbed, Suspect Killed in Suffolk County Police Shooting

by Charlie Dwyer

Bay Shore, NY – A confrontation in Bay Shore ended with a police officer stabbed and a 33-year-old suspect, involved in a domestic dispute, shot dead by Suffolk County police on Saturday.

The incident led to the closure of streets surrounding Udall Road as the neighborhood became a crime scene. Local resident Zenen Lopez, who was nearby, reported hearing multiple gunshots before witnessing a police officer administering chest compressions to the suspect, identified as Taiquell Woodson. Another officer was observed with a bloodied arm, the result of being stabbed multiple times by Woodson.

“This is a justified shooting. Without the decisive actions of these officers, one of our officers would’ve been killed today,” stated Suffolk Police Commissioner Robert Waring, underscoring the severity of the threat faced by the officers involved.
