Bethesda Woman Faces Charges for Bus Robbery and Assaults

Bethesda, MD – A Bethesda woman has been arrested and charged with robbery and assault following an incident on a Metro bus.

37-year-old Crystal McArthur was apprehended by Montgomery County Police on Sunday, February 18, after allegedly assaulting a female victim and stealing her phone on a bus. The attack occurred around 9:26 a.m. on the 7600 block of Wisconsin Ave. The victim, whose injuries were serious but not life-threatening, was later taken to a hospital.

The confrontation began without provocation, according to police reports. McArthur exited the bus after the assault and proceeded to walk towards Old Georgetown Rd., where she was eventually located and arrested by officers. During her arrest, McArthur is also accused of assaulting two police officers.

Following her arrest, McArthur was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. She faces charges including robbery, theft, multiple counts of assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
