A vehicle collided with an Amtrak train at the intersection of Amarylis and Warfield earlier today, prompting a response from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find that all three occupants of the vehicle, including a child, had safely exited the vehicle before the train’s impact.

As of 3 p.m., the vehicle remained on the tracks, and authorities are warning of expected traffic delays in the area.
