Shooting in Downtown Paterson Sends One to Hospital

PATERSON, NJ — A shooting incident in the heart of Paterson’s downtown business district wounded a 28-year-old local man on Wednesday evening. The event occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Broadway, two of the city’s major thoroughfares, at 6:29 p.m., according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

This latest shooting marks the 12th such incident in Paterson for the year, contributing to a toll of one fatality and 13 injuries. Comparatively, by this time last year, the city had experienced 11 shootings, with one death and 16 injuries reported.

Further details on the incident have yet to be disclosed by authorities.
