ALLENTOWN, PA — In a significant development, the Allentown Police Department, in coordination with District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan, announced the arrest of John Albert Garner in connection with a homicide that occurred last year. Garner faces charges of Criminal Homicide and Aggravated Assault, both first-degree felonies.

Garner was arraigned earlier today and is currently being held without bail. A preliminary hearing is set for March 28 at 1:15 p.m. in the Lehigh County Central Court. Details of the case remain under wraps, with the affidavit of probable cause sealed for 60 days.

The investigation traces back to July 9, 2023, when Allentown police were dispatched to assist at a residence on 314 N. 16th St., following a 911 call reporting a male in cardiac arrest. The caller, having not heard from Alexander Mason Price for several days, discovered Price’s body upon checking his residence. The Lehigh County Coroner, Dan Buglio, determined that Price, born on July 17, 1993, succumbed to blunt force head trauma, ruling his death a homicide.
