HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ — A tragic motor vehicle accident claimed the life of a 54-year-old female from Ontario, Canada, on April 2, following a collision with a concrete mixer truck on State Highway 33 near West Renaissance Blvd.
The incident occurred around 10:28 AM when the woman, driving a 2023 Mazda CX-5 westbound, veered across the centerline during a curve and collided with the eastbound concrete mixer truck. The impact resulted in significant damage to both vehicles and trapped the Mazda’s driver, who succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Minor injuries were reported for the driver and passenger of the concrete mixer truck, both of whom were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Howell Township Police Department, along with multiple emergency and support services, responded to the accident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, led by the Howell Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit. Witnesses are urged to contact Ptl. Daniel Scherbinski with any relevant information.
