HYATTSVILLE, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the afternoon hours in the unincorporated area of Hyattsville. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Idongesit Udosen from Lanham. In connection with the investigation, authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
The incident took place on April 4, 2024, around 3:40 pm, when police were dispatched to the 6800 block of Greenvale Parkway following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Udosen on the roadway, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.
Initial findings suggest that Udosen was employed with a trash removal company at the time of the shooting. Detectives are delving into the motive behind the incident and striving to identify any suspects. The shooting does not appear to be random, according to preliminary investigations.
