Police Seeking Witnesses in Fatal Crash Investigation

MAGNOLIA, DEDelaware State Police are seeking witnesses to a fatal crash that occurred near Magnolia, resulting in a woman’s death.

The incident took place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, around 11:58 p.m., when a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, traveling southbound on Clapham Road towards Jury Drive near Barker’s Landing’s entrance, veered off the road into a retention pond, becoming submerged with the driver inside. Despite rescue efforts to save the 46-year-old woman from Magnolia, Delaware, she succumbed to her life-threatening injuries at a local hospital on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

The identity of the deceased is withheld pending notification of her family. The area was closed for investigation and clearance for about three hours following the incident.
