Newark Police Seek Car Used in March Robbery Case

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery on March 30. The incident unfolded around 6:25 p.m. in the 400 block of Chestnut Street, where the victim was assaulted and robbed while walking.

A male, driving a distinctive white Honda Accord, confronted the victim across the street. Despite initially demanding the victim’s cell phone, the situation escalated when the victim refused to comply. The assailant then physically attacked the victim, ultimately taking the cell phone and $25 before fleeing the scene.

The vehicle used in the robbery is noted for its unique features, including a black rear spoiler, black side mirrors, a black antenna, and black and chrome rims. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
