Serial Business Burglar Captured in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department has apprehended a serial business burglar, ending a spree of crimes in Northwest D.C.

25-year-old Harris Baylin, identified as homeless, faces multiple charges for a series of burglaries and related crimes across the District. The series of offenses began with a burglary on April 4th at a business on the 3800 block of 14th Street, where Baylin forcefully entered and stole money.

Additional burglaries occurred nearby on 14th Street and Georgia Avenue, with Baylin forcefully entering businesses, stealing money and property, and causing property damage. On Monday, Baylin attempted to burglarize a religious institution on the 4000 block of 17th Street, Northwest, resorting to stealing packages nearby after finding the door locked.

Baylin was charged with multiple counts of burglary, destruction of property, unlawful entry, and theft.
