Fatal Bicycle Accident in Camden Under Investigation by State Police

CAMDEN, DE—The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal collision involving a bicyclist that occurred on the evening of April 17, 2024. The incident took place at approximately 9:17 p.m. on Old Camden Road near the intersection with South Dupont Highway.

A 2015 Nissan Altima, traveling southbound, struck a 52-year-old Delaware man who was attempting to cross from the east to the west side of the highway. The bicyclist entered directly in front of the Nissan and was hit within the southbound lane of Old Camden Road.

The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of his family. Further details regarding the cause of the crash are under investigation.
