BOSTON, MA – On Saturday, officers from the Boston Police Department took Gerald Sibley into custody at approximately 1:31 PM. This followed reports of a person with a gun at 128 Tremont Street.
According to Boston Police Operations, a male suspect had brandished a firearm at a cashier inside a store, leading officers to approach the individual as he stood in front of the counter. Following the incident, Sibley was apprehended, and a Taurus G2 firearm was confiscated from his waistband, containing one round in the chamber and eight rounds in a large capacity magazine.
Sibley was subsequently charged with various offenses including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device, as well as armed robbery and resisting arrest. His next step will involve an arraignment at Boston Municipal Court.
