Nutley Police Arrest Auto Thief, Stresses Zero Tolerance Policy

Nutley, NJ – Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo have announced an auto theft arrest. Chief Strumolo reported that at 3:35 AM on Saturday morning, officers observed suspicious activity involving a motor vehicle at the intersection of Franklin Ave. and Sargent St.

The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Javon McFadden of Wayne, was apprehended in the process of burglarizing his second vehicle. McFadden was taken into custody and charged with burglary before being released on a summons with a mandatory court appearance. This incident marks the third motor vehicle theft arrest conducted by Nutley officers in the past two weeks. Director Petracco emphasized the town’s zero-tolerance policy towards such criminal activities, stating that proactive policing measures will continue until the message is clear.
