South River Police Department has announced a 24-hour road closure on Old Bridge Turnpike starting Monday, April 22nd. The closure, due to sewer repairs, will affect northbound traffic only. Motorists are advised to follow posted detours guiding them through Lexington Avenue, James Street, Johnson Place, and back to Old Bridge Turnpike.
Commercial vehicles and trucks will be rerouted via Racetrack Road to Route 18 northbound. Southbound traffic on Old Bridge Turnpike will remain unaffected by detours but delays are expected. Drivers should exercise caution, expect heavy delays, consider alternative routes, and plan for additional travel time.
