Fatal Hit-and-Run In Laurel Leaves Pedestrian Dead

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian in the unincorporated region of Laurel. The pedestrian, identified as an adult male, will not be publicly named until his family has been informed.

On Thursday at around 8:10 pm, police officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in the 9000 block of Contee Road. The pedestrian was found in the roadway with injuries and was subsequently transported to a medical facility where he was later pronounced dead.

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of an unidentified vehicle was traveling eastbound on Contee Road when they struck the pedestrian and fled the scene. Authorities are actively working to determine the details about the vehicle and locate the driver involved.
