Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in CVS Robbery

Delaware State Police have identified a suspect in an attempted armed robbery at a CVS in Claymont as 47-year-old Shawn Jason from Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The incident occurred on a date in March at around 7:00 p.m. The suspect, described as an unknown black male, brandished a firearm and demanded drugs from the pharmacist after jumping over the pharmacy counter. However, the suspect fled the store without any proceeds during the attempted robbery.

Authorities, including Troop 2 Robbery Detectives and law enforcement agencies from outside the state, identified Shawn Jason as the suspect behind the robbery.

A warrant for his arrest was secured, and on April 24, 2024, Jason was apprehended in Pennsylvania, where he is currently in custody. Once extradited to Delaware, Jason will face charges related to the armed robbery, including attempted robbery in the first degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
