Six Shot At D.C. Nightclub, Suspect Arrested

WASHINGTON, DC – A man was swiftly arrested by the D.C. Metro Police Department following a shooting incident on Connecticut Avenue. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division have taken 29-year-old Rennwel Mantock into custody.

The incident occurred on Friday at around 11:21 p.m., when officers were called to the 1200 block of Connecticut Avenue NW after reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they found six adults with gunshot injuries. Three men and two women were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, while another man received treatment for a minor graze wound at the scene and declined further medical care.

Witness accounts led officers to Mantock, a resident of Hyattsville, MD. He was apprehended shortly after being ejected from a nightclub due to a dispute, during which he reportedly opened fire. A firearm was found at the scene.

Mantock faces charges including Assault with Intent to Kill, as well as possession of unregistered ammunition and an unregistered firearm.
