Arrest Made in D.C. Robbery and Homicide, Police Seek Second Suspect

WASHINGTON, DC – In a recent development, D.C. Metro Police Department detectives have apprehended a man linked to a deadly shooting during a Northwest business robbery. The violent event, leading to a fatality, took place on Georgia Avenue on Wednesday, March 27, around 2:56 PM. Two assailants, wielding handguns, robbed the business, during which one of the suspects shot a victim who later succumbed to injuries at a local hospital.

The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Philip Prendergast of Silver Spring, MD. On Monday, police arrested 21-year-old Trenton Collins of Northwest, DC, following a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. Collins faces charges of First Degree Murder while Armed-Felony Murder and is now in custody at the Homicide Branch.

With Collins in custody, the search for the second involved suspect continues. This suspect has been caught on nearby surveillance cameras.
