ALLENTOWN, PA—Pennsylvania authorities have arrested Joshua Moser, 33, on charges of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence following the gruesome death of his roommate, 37-year-old David Hittinger.
The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office announced that a missing person report was filed on May 13 by a friend of Hittinger after he failed to attend his own birthday party.
The subsequent investigation led police to Moser’s home where Hittinger was last seen on May 11. A search warrant executed at Moser’s residence on Monday revealed traces of blood and hair, alongside evidence of an attempt to conceal the blood.

Further searches uncovered a saw, box cutter, and blood-stained clothing.
Hittinger’s dismembered remains were found on Wednesday in trash bags at Fairview Cemetery, close to Moser’s residence. Additional parts were located at the D&L Trail and a nearby quarry in Washington Township. Following the discovery, Moser was formally charged with Hittinger’s murder on Friday after an autopsy confirmed the death as a homicide.
District Attorney Gavin Holihan praised the swift action of the friend who reported Hittinger missing, highlighting the importance of community vigilance in solving the case.
