Boonton, NJ – Authorities were alerted to a threat on Monday morning at Boonton High School when a tip was received alleging the presence of an explosive device on the premises. The response entailed members of various law enforcement agencies conducting a systematic search of the school, leading to no suspicious items being found.
Shortly after, another report of an active shooter at John Hill School in Boonton was found to be unsubstantiated.

The building was cleared by police from different precincts, including Boonton, Mountain Lakes, and Montville, marking the end of the search with no credible threats identified.
Both situations were addressed for over two hours by law enforcement, with the Morris County Sheriff’s K9 Section aiding in the investigations. Ongoing inquiries involve multiple agencies and no official statement has been made regarding potential links between the two incidents.
