by Breaking Local News Report

The Jackson Township PBA 168 and VFW Post #4703 are once again hosting their annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony at John F. Johnson, Jr. Memorial Park.  The parade starts at the parking lot of Holman Elementary School and proceeds south on Manhattan Street before ending in Johnson Park.

The annual tribute is a celebration of those servicemembers who sacrificed in defense of our nation.

The parade begins at 10:00 am on Monday, May 27th.

Inside the park, a ceremony will honor living veterans. Amenities such as food vendors, giveaways, and entertainment for younger children will also be available.

The event will continue until 1 pm.

“Jackson Township has always done a great job honoring our veterans, and I want to thank the PBA and VFW for keeping this very important tradition alive,” said Mayor Michael Reina.  “It’s important for us to remember those who gave their lives so we can live in a free country.”

Jackson Township Council President Jennifer Kuhn also thanked the PBA and VFW.

“This is an example of our community coming together on such an important day,” Kuhn said. “Please keep our veterans and active military in mind while you celebrate, but more importantly, keep the Gold Star families here in Jackson in mind, as they also sacrificed loved ones to keep our country free.”

Councilman Mordechai Burnstein encourages residents to come out and show their support.
