A Baltimore County woman, who occasionally tries her luck with scratch-offs, was thrilled to discover she had won $50,000 on a Power Cash instant ticket. The win marks her as the fifth top-prize winner in this game.

The medical worker purchased the $5 Power Cash ticket at the White Marsh Truck Stop while heading to a friend’s house. She returned home to scratch off the ticket, initially thinking she had won just $5.

“I didn’t believe it. I thought I had only won $5,” she recounted with a smile. Upon closer inspection, she noticed a lightning bolt symbol on her ticket. This guaranteed her a prize of $5,000, which was then multiplied by 10X, increasing her total winnings to $50,000.

In a state of excitement, the northeast Baltimore County resident shared, “It just wasn’t a winner. It was the highest amount.” She plans to use her prize money to pay bills and save the rest.

The lucky retailer also benefits from the win. For selling the $50,000 winning ticket, the White Marsh Truck Stop at 11424 Pulaski Highway will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

The $5 Power Cash scratch-off ticket was launched on February 19, 2024. So far, five top prizes of $50,000 have been claimed, with three still available, along with numerous other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
