Philadelphia Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Assault Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Central Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an assault incident. The altercation occurred at the Dollar General store located at 1300 West Lehigh Avenue on June 8, around 2:30 PM.

An unknown black male engaged in a verbal dispute with a store employee, escalating the situation by going behind the counter and attempting to physically assault the employee. The suspect then moved to the front of the counter, where he began hurling store items, including a keypad, at the victim. The attack resulted in the victim sustaining a fractured right hand.

Following the assault, the suspect left the store in an unspecified direction. The injured employee self-transported to Temple Hospital for treatment. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s identity to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
