Utica Police Arrest Three Suspects in Court Street Robbery

Utica, NY — On June 16, 2024, Utica Police officers were alerted to a robbery in which the victim reported being accosted and threatened by three individuals near Court Street and Varick Street. The victim, who recognized one of the assailants, stated that the attackers eventually hit him with rocks, pushed him to the ground, and continued to strike him. During the assault, the victim’s cell phone and wallet were stolen.

The case was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. Through an area canvas and surveillance footage, and with assistance from the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center, the identities of the other two suspects were confirmed.

On June 28, 2024, members of the Utica Police Department Warrants Unit and Patrol Division successfully apprehended all three suspects. The individuals and their charges are as follows:

  • Elijah Donk, 26, of Utica: Robbery in the third degree, Assault in the third degree
  • Zachary Jones, 24, of Utica: Robbery in the third degree, Assault in the third degree
  • Michael Oliver, 22, of Utica: Robbery in the third degree, Assault in the third degree

The suspects have been taken into custody and are facing charges for their involvement in the robbery and assault.
