Pittsburgh Man Charged in Penn Hills Shooting Incident

Allegheny County, PA — County Police have charged Chaz Jackson, 42, of Pittsburgh in connection with a shooting at Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills.

On June 2, at 2:52 a.m., County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting in the 3500 block of Laketon Road. First responders found 44-year-old Nathaniel Smiley and 28-year-old Stephanie Stuart deceased inside the lounge. Seven additional victims were treated and released from area hospitals following the incident.

Penn Hills Police requested assistance from the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit. Detectives, through witness interviews and collected evidence, identified Jackson as one of the individuals responsible for the shooting. Jackson, who was working as an armed security guard at the lounge that night, has been charged with the homicide of Stephanie Stuart and causing injuries to at least one surviving victim.

Jackson faces multiple charges, including homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
