Elvis is Dead: New Jersey State Police Mourn Loss

by Breaking Local News Report

TRENTON, NJ — The New Jersey State Police have announced the passing of Mounted Elvis on July 2. The beloved horse, who retired in 2023, served the force for five years alongside Lt. Bill Donahue in the Mounted Unit.

At 30 years old, Elvis was known for his tranquil, steady, and gentle demeanor, making him a trusted companion to several Field Riders, including Colonel Patrick J. Callahan. Elvis played a key role in training other State Police Mounts due to his calming influence on the herd.

Elvis led many events, including parades, funerals, and school functions, often alongside his favorite partner, Mounted Phantom. His dedication and dependability left a lasting impact on the force.

Elvis’ legacy of service and steadfastness will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Elvis.
