Motown Vibes Highlight Great Night of Good Music on the Waterfront in Toms River

by Breaking Local News Report

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Another large crowd showed up to enjoy the second installment of Toms River Township’s summer concert series. Hundreds of residents showed up with lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks and enjoyed a great show by Dr. K’s Motown Review featuring the best Motown hits from the 60s through the 80s.

Several boats even pulled up alongside the beach at Shelter Cove and enjoyed the show from the water.

The free concerts are part of Mayor Dan Rodrick’s initiative to expand the township’s entertainment offerings this summer, which include free movies in Huddy Park and free concerts at Shelter Cove.

As the sun went down, the bay breeze began to blow across Shelter Cove, creating a very enjoyable end to what was one of the hottest days of the year in the township. The only thing hot Wednesday night was the performance by Dr. K and his bandmates.

The Toms River Summer Concert Series continues on July 24 with Garden State Radio, followed by the Infernos on August 7th, Austin City nights on August 14th, and Second Contact on August 21st.

The next free outdoor movie night at Huddy Park is July 16th, where Under the Boardwalk will be shown.
