Syracuse Police Crack Down on Illegal Dirt Bike and ATV Activity

by Breaking Local News Report

Syracuse, NY – On Saturday, July 20, the Syracuse Police Department’s ATV enforcement detail confiscated three illegally operated dirt bikes and ATVs from city streets as part of an ongoing crackdown. The seizure included one four-wheeler and two dirt bikes, both of which had been reported stolen.

The Syracuse Police Department is enforcing a zero-tolerance policy regarding illegal dirt bikes and ATVs. Operators of these vehicles are subject to arrest and charged with local law violations, which carry a $500 fine for first-time offenses, along with substantial redemption fees.

This enforcement detail, which aims to curb illegal off-road vehicle activity, will continue throughout the summer. The Syracuse Police Department extends its gratitude to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office for their partnership and the use of Air One.

Residents are encouraged to report any illegal ATV or dirt bike activity to help maintain safety on city streets.
