NEW YORK, NY – The NYPD is actively seeking information to identify a suspect involved in an attempted assault that occurred early Saturday morning, August 10.

The incident took place at around 1:15 AM near the intersection of East 90th Street and East End Avenue in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

According to reports, a 19-year-old female was walking when an unknown male approached her, pushed her to the ground, and attempted to commit rape.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on East 90th Street. Emergency services responded promptly, transporting the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was last observed wearing a dark-colored shirt, blue jeans, and multicolored shoes.

The Manhattan Special Victims Squad is handling the investigation and urges anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to come forward. The NYPD emphasizes the importance of community assistance in solving this case and ensuring the safety of local residents.
