by Breaking Local News Report

UTICA, N.Y. – The City of Utica Police Department identified the deceased individual in Saturday’s shooting homicide on the 1100 block of Brinckerhoff Avenue as Jeffrey Nash, 46, of Utica.

The investigation is ongoing in partnership with the District Attorney’s Office. Additional information about the circumstances will be released soon. The police extended thoughts and prayers to Nash’s family.

In a separate incident, Michael Bialek-Gilliam, 31, of Utica was identified as the victim of a Saturday stabbing homicide. Jerry Lee Louis, 57, of Utica, has been charged with second-degree murder and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Evidence showed the two parties engaged in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.

During the altercation, Louis assaulted Bialek-Gilliam with a knife, causing multiple injuries to his neck and abdomen.

Efforts by Utica Fire Department personnel and Wynn Hospital staff to save Bialek-Gilliam were unsuccessful.
