Burnsville, NC – The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the dedicated efforts of its officers, along with support officers from nearby areas, in ensuring the safety of residents during severe storm conditions.
Between September 26 and October 13, officers conducted 2,156 welfare checks across the community. These efforts often took place amidst considerable destruction caused by the storm.
Despite challenging conditions, including damaged roads, fallen trees, and widespread power outages, the officers remained committed to checking on the well-being of residents. The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude for their hard work and professionalism.
