NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Authorities are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man who was found unconscious early Sunday morning on Comstock Street, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Chief Vincent Sabo. The victim, Oscar Sanchez, was discovered by police at approximately 3:03 a.m. after a 911 call reported an unresponsive male.
Officers performed CPR at the scene, and Sanchez was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
An investigation led by Detective Brandt Gregus of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Stephanie Redline of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that Sanchez had been involved in a fight and sustained serious injuries. Authorities have stated that the incident was not a random act of violence and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
