Joppa woman wins $50K Pick 5 prize after months-long search for lost ticket

by Local News Report

JOPPA, Md. — A Harford County woman’s dream led her to a $50,000 Pick 5 lottery win, though a misplaced ticket nearly kept her from cashing in.

The Joppa resident, a regular lottery player, chose her numbers—96221—after they appeared in a dream, securing her win in the May 19 evening drawing. However, months passed before she could claim her prize due to a temporary loss of the winning ticket, which had slipped between the seats in her vehicle.

After an exhaustive search, she finally found the ticket and claimed her prize this week at Lottery headquarters, accompanied by her adult son. The winner plans to bank the $50,000, saying she’ll “save it for hard times.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Royal Farms on Joppa Farm Road, which will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the prize-winning ticket.
