GAITHERSBURG, MD — A 30-year-old Laurel man has been charged in connection with a commercial armed robbery at a tobacco store in Gaithersburg last month, authorities said Tuesday.

Tameek Parker was arrested on November 25 after Montgomery County police executed a search warrant at his home in Laurel, uncovering items they described as evidence linking him to the crime. He is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

The robbery occurred on the afternoon of November 8 at the Tobacco and Vape Outlet on Snouffer School Road. Police say Parker entered the store, displayed a black handgun, and demanded merchandise from an employee, who complied.

Detectives used surveillance footage from the store to obtain a description of the suspect, which ultimately led to Parker’s identification.

Authorities have not disclosed details about the items seized during the search but noted they were significant to the case.

Parker remains in custody as police continue their investigation into the robbery.
