FREEHOLD, N.J. — Local law enforcement agencies in Monmouth County have received multiple reports of drone sightings this week, reflecting a growing trend nationwide, Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago and Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association President Edward Gunnell announced Friday.

Sightings have been reported in the Bayshore Region, the Atlantic Coast, and interior sections of the county. While authorities emphasized that the drones do not currently pose a specific threat to public safety, they are working to share information with state and federal partners, including the FBI and New Jersey State Police.

“The Prosecutor’s Office and local police are actively monitoring these sightings and exchanging information to address public concerns,” officials said.

Residents are encouraged to report any potentially suspicious drone activity to their local police department’s non-emergency line. Additional reports can be submitted directly to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or online at www.tips.fbi.gov, where video evidence can also be uploaded.
